New Performance Shoot

New Performance Shoot

As I have decided to make a lot of improvements to my music video as Mr Earl and I discussed,  I have chosen to film additional footage for the performance element of my music video. This will allow for a wider variety of shots than I got from my last performance shoot. Here are some stills from today's shoot.

Change of Plan - Video

Change of Plan - Video

I have been getting rather frustrated with the editing process of my music video as it seemed to lack focus and I want it to be as good as it possibly can be so I spoke to Mr. Earl about how I could improve on the narrative of my music video. As I currently have focused the video on Charlotte and Callum as my couple and showing the ups and the downs of their relationship. However, with the deadline rapidly approaching and I am not as far forward with filming as I would like to be as I have around 5 minutes of song to fill and scheduling times are still difficult, I have now chosen to incorporate two couple into my music video. I will use my boyfriend Niall and I as a 'normal' loving relationship of everyday people, going to bed, waking up, drinking cups of tea, eating dinner, going into town etc. whereas the other couple are loud, in your face, and fight like cat and dog. This will make it easier to use my time wisely.

A couple of music videos from my genre which use different couples are:

Brand Identity - Marc Atlanta

Brand Identity - Marc Atlanta

For my DJ/ Producer artist I wanted him to appeal to young men and teenagers by creating a character who is fun and modern but not patronising. There were very few fonts that I thought worked with the name and the character so I just chose a couple which worked better than most.

Lorde - Pure Heroine Digipak Analysis

Lorde - Pure Heroine Digipak Analysis

I have started to analyse the Digipak for Lorde's album Pure Heroine. I chose to analyse Lorde's debut CD as she is only 18 and she is a female solo artist similar to my artist Keira Black. She is quite quirky so her album is not full of images of her posing in very little clothing as a lot of young women do these days. She cares more about her music than what people think of her appearance.

This is what I have done so far. I have not finished but I have included the next few pages of the booklet that I will analyse tomorrow. I understand that Digipaks do not always have a booklet but as the front cover did not include any imagery and I thought the inside was interesting I thought I would look further into it.

We Found Love - Cover Analysis

We Found Love - Cover Analysis

I have began looking at individual covers for my genre of dance music and a female vocalist. I have chose We Found Love by Calvin Harris and Rihanna to analyse first.

As we have to create a Digipak I thought it would be a good idea to look at what exactly it is we must create.

Digipak's are usually made of paperboard and a plastic tray on the inside to hold a disk. Digipaks are used as an alternative to the more common cd cases known as jewel cases.

This is an example of what a typical Digipak looks like:

Artist Typography Ideas

Artist Typography Ideas

I have began thinking about how I would like to represent the artists I have created in different ways. Thinking about how to put across their personalities in every possible way. I have been researching the way similar artists to Keira Black and Marc Atlanta use typography effectively.
